Unknown Problems

I have a 1997 Maxima SE. I have two nagging problems that I have not been able to diagnose. The dealer has not had much luck either. Can anyone help?

1. I believe there are two problems that are intertwined. There is a noise when the car is cold that comes and goes. The dealer did the brake check valve hose update and it did not work. Also, when the car is started the rpm's dip down to around 400 and then back up to cold idle speed. Along with this, when accelerating and letting off the gas, the idle dips to about 400 and then back up. This problem also comes and goes with the noise.

2. When the car is parked for over 10 minutes and then starts moving there is a noise that sounds like a spring releasing somewhere up front. I cannot think of what this could be.

I would appreciate any kind of help.

Well for #1, you ough to check out ure throttle body and EGR. You probably have alot of carbon build up... how many miles do you have? I only say this because you say your RPM varies especially from starting from 0mph an accelerating... and also during initial starting of the car. good luck
