Automotive Repair Manual for 4th Gen

Hi Guys,

I am going to purchase an automovtive repair manual (as a reference only so I can be speak intelligently from ) for my 4th Gen maxima. I was thinking of ordering something off the web because most places don't carry them in stock. Which do you suggest, Haynes, Chilton's, etc..? Thanks for help!

if you have the money for the nissan FSM, get that instead, as detailed as it can possibly get....but if you wanna go the inexpensive way, its a toss up really between Hayne's or Chilton's...but here's a good comparison comparing all 3

I'd say Haynes is your best bet if that's all you're needing. Haynes doesn't get super technical like a shop manual would, and has more pics than a Chilton.IMO

If you wanna go electronic, the eFSM (CD format) can be found on ebay for $20-30. But it'll cost a booty to print out all the PDF pages!

Hey Guys, thanks for all the feedback, I appreciate it. Does anyone know where I can purchase the FSM (book not CD)? Also, I noticed that Haynes discontinued the 93-98 manual and replaced it with a 93-2001 manual. Does anyone know why? Thanks again.

Probably just to save money in printing and production costs. Instead of making seperate books for each generation, jam 3rd, 4th, and 5th together.

I'd prefer they just made a 4th gen manual. Having all 3 in the same book is confusing and they don't include enough details on certain things.

Ooo... I graduated from newbie!
