I plan to not use my car for 16 months. Its a '97, and i got about 43,000 miles on it. During the 16 months I will be gone to school, I plan to return every few months (every 4 months) to use it for a week or two. What shall I do to maintain the car's well-being while it is not in use?

 

Before you store it, try:
-Changing the oil.
-Fill the tank completly full to avoid condensation on the top of the tank.
-Wash and wax the paint
-Use a car cover
-Make sure all inlets(air and engine inlets-outlets) are covered to avoid rodents/spiders nesting
-Increase your tire pressure to avoid flatspotting
-Disconnect your battery so the alarm light doesn't drain it slowly
