ATTN people with upgraded headlight wire harness.. do your high beams work?
ATTN people with upgraded headlight wire harness.. do your high beams work?
I had APC headlight harness for 100/80W bulbs but, when I turned on the high beams, only 1 headlight worked and i'm not even sure if it flipped to the high beam or not...

Anyone else had this problem?
What kind of headlight harness are you running?

thing is,
mine just had 1 headlight working with the high beams, no matter how much you messed with the wires and the switch.. i think it was because of the design and installation process of those wires.. you plug one stock connector to the aftermarket harness and just leave the 2nd connector hanging in the engine bay and tape it up with electrical tape.. that is how they were supposed to be installed
i didn't know this for a very long time becuase i never used my high beams since i live in NYC.
Anyone else with upgraded harness? how do your high beams work?
i had the same problem, i have no idea why, but when i would move around the two small black boxes, they would come on, so i just kept messing around with different positions to sit them in to keep them on and left it there. kinda shady and weird way of doin it, but that's the only way i got them to work
I have APC harness as well, no problem with high beams what-so-ever! If you have to move the box to get both your high beams working, one of your relays might have gone bad.
And yes, you only use the drive side stock connector and leave the passanger side unplugged.

mine work absolutely fine, both low and high beams, but my headlights sucks(that's another story)...but you use only one headlight connection because you are using the relays on the new harness not the stock ones. So that is how it is suppose to be installed....

Where did you buy the nokya upgraded wire harness?
what bulbs do y'all run? I don't remember nokya carrying bulbs that don't run on stock voltage. I know they have fake ones that run stock voltage and look like 100/80. Piaa doesn't have any either.

Last night I started having a problem with my APC wire harness. My driver side was way dimmer than my passenger side. I also lost my high beams. So far I found the relay went bad, that explains my high beams not working. I going to check the black wire as athlon omega did to see if that is the case with my light being dim.

thanks for the replies...
I had problems with one of my headlights going dim numerous times.. I had to jiggle the connectors and the ground wires..
Then I found corrosion in the actual plug...
APC harness seems to be problematic..
Anyone looking for the Nokya upgraded harness, go to www.southwestautoworks.com it's like 15$ there!
I'm going to order this as well..
which brings me to my next question.......
This is getting a little off topic
but...
what bulbs are you guys with upgraded harness running in your headlights?
I need a nice WHITE (no yellow, as little blue as possible) bulb 100/80W

So that's why I didn't go with Piaa's or any other brand. Tifosi
I picked up my Nokya harnesses at a local performace shop. I have spent so much money on bulbs. 3 ($60-75 total) pairs of Nokya Artic Whites (I should of only needed two, din't know my harness was bad) 1 ($25 a Piece) pair of Sylvannia SilverStars, and currently a pair of PIAA's.

The bulbs that I currently run are Xenon FX 5000K. These bulbs are very bright and emit a nice white light with a slight hint of blue. I got them off of ebay and have had them since March with no problems. They have new ones called the XD5 5100K 80/100W bulbs that emit pure white light! I'm thinking about getting those and using my current ones for spares.
