I was just curious, the indiglo gauges are legal right? I know neons are not legal in NY and the indiglos basically look like blue or green neons, so i was wondering if I can or if anyone has gotten a tickett for them? A cop was next to me at a light tonight, and I got nervous about it.

 

They are legal, I'm almost certain about it. I mean, what can they do short of staring into your car? If you get pulled over/see a cop, just dim em.

 

Different states, different laws. You should check with local law enforcement.

 

I know some lexus and other cars have them stock.

long as the bulbs aren't directly shining visibly, same with underglow kit. The glow off the kit is fine but if you can see the actual bulb, than it's illegal. But the gauges should be legal because there is no bulb showing? That's how it is in most states anyways.

 

i dont agree with you on the bulb showing theory.....by the glow off kit i am assuming u mean the street glow underbody kit...because if that is the case then i know it is not legal....no matter if the bulb is showing or not cops pulled me and my friend over for having these underbody lights on....the rods were not showing at all but the cop was able to see the glow....i am gonna have to agree with Clee on this one and say that u have to check your state laws...im from illinois and i know its illegal here.....

i have indiglo gauges and i have been pulled over at night on 2 diff occasions....neither of the cops said anything about the gauges to me...i had them set in the middle...not too bright but not to dim....i hope this helps.....

 

The VW Passat has sort of an indiglow look to their gauges. They glow deep purple.

just like tinting, you have to check your states laws to see what's legal, and what's not!

 

My initial K indiglo's are illegal in NY/NJ...

Law states that if the Neon is visible outside the car...which they are, the indiglo is very bright. I doubt a cop would write you up for it though.

ehh i see the vw all the time. u can make a big argument against the ticket

 

my sisters old 2001 Chrysler 300m had factory indiglo's in the gauges and in the center mounted clock. looked pretty sweet. but yeah, unless Chrysler is doing something illegal, you should be fine.
