Here are my SE rims, PhotoShopped onto my car and tinted in a Gunmetal finish so that I can see what they will look like if I paint them:



Thanks to geo1317 for doing the Photoshop work. I MAY actually paint them a little lighter, but you get the idea. What do you guys think?

Oh yeah, I know I still look like a 4x4.

 

You can actaully get a simalar look by powdercoating them. Unlike painting, powdercoating is a very good method to changing the look of your rims. You can get a color simalar to the one you photoshopped and the powedercoat protects your rims for years to come.

 

I don't think it's worth powdercoating OEM wheels. Tirerack sells nice 17X8 for $149 each. Powdercoating will be around $100 each.

 

I know that powdercoating can be very resilient, but can't it also chip or flake easily if hit the wrong way? I know that off-road accessories are considered to be more durible for certain applications when powdercoated, but after a certain point their durability is considered to be less desirable than painting due to a tendency to flake and the expense of resurfacing w/ powdercoating v. painting.

They are nice, but from the pics they don't too different from the ones u already have.

 

save your money and just buy new rims in the spring!! you can get a desent set for 500-600 bux.. better yet, work on the 4x4 look get springs and shocks and clear bumpers for about the same!!

 

I am about to buy clear corners, although to be honest I don't hate the orange ones as much as some people do. I found rims that I want, but I need to wait until they are off backorder. Right now the wait is at least 6 weeks.

 

I think gunmetal stockers may look a little out of place on your light-colored car. Save (or wait) for the rims you want. What kind are they?

 

I liked the darker look b/c I think that the whole silver on beige thing looks a little out of place. The rims that I want are the large ones in the pic below. They are basically OZ F1 knock-offs, in Gunmetal finish.

 

It looks alright, but the I think the shinier silver finish complements the color of your car better
