Max is not happy. Trouble starting. Fuel Pump dead?

So last week my car wouldnt start. It wouldnt turn over or anything. I had the starter replaced and it seemed to fix things. I am away at college so I wasnt here to experience any of it. So i come home today and the car starts fine in the morning. I come back and a few hours latter try to start it and it wont. It turns over but wont fire up all the way. Finally i just give it a lot of gas while turning hte key and it turns on. I drive over to my machanic and he cleaned the throttle body with some stuff thinking that may help. I let it sit for a while after driving hom and again ti wouldnt start without me giving it a lot of gas. Any ideas? Fuel pump maybe?

Take it to a quick lube center and have a fuel system clean done. It's probly dirty injectors.

It could be a bad fuel pump check valve...do a search for Daniel B. Martin & check valve...you'll find a lot of info.

Engine Temp Sensor.

Just check the wire and make sure there's no corrosion on the connection. If the ECU gets the wrong engine temp, you can get hard starts.

The sensor may still be good, but just reporting the wrong temp to the ECU, you wount get a CEL in this case.
