Pictures of 4th Gens with H&R springs and thoughts on shocks and springs combo?
I did a lot of search time and couldn't find anything of a constant answer, everyone had different things to say about each product. My friend is going to buy shocks and springs and can't decide to go with eibach or H&R's. He also ordered an addco rear sway bar from Cattman for $115 shipped. He drives in New York City and it's time for new shocks and why not new springs that lower the vehicle. Let's keep in mind New York City bumps are the nicest.
what the best combo for the city? (ride quality, shock life and just product quality overall)
1. eibach/ kyb agx
2. h&r's/ kyb agx
3. eibach/ tokico blues
4. h&r's/ tokico blues
Thanks,
Diego

i think u haven't been able to find the answer because to give u a definite answer of which one to get, one would have to try each and every combo.
i highly doubt it if anyone has tried every combo u listed.
do a search on each spring and another search on each strut separately

almost everyone says that H&R's are softer than Eibachs.
I think Tokico's might also be softer than KYB AGX, but everyone recommends getting the AGX's anyway ( I guess AGXs are better quality overall).
I have AGXs, and they are a bit harsh at times, especially over really cracked or pot holed roads, but you can definetely get used to it.

i've got H & R springs with my stock SE struts and shocks. the ride's pretty nice, not much harder than stock at all actually. it's definitely nowhere near what my parents 97 gle is, but it's nice. they definitely lower it better than eibach's. only thing is, if you want much of a nice driving car performance-wise, i'd go with something like sprints. you'll get a better drop. my h & r's help around corners etc, but be prepared, they're (obviously) not top notch for a performance suspension. if you want ride quality, go for em. that's my two cents...

NYC + LOWERED + TOKICO = BAD CHOICE
I'm in the city a lot. H&R+KYB AGX is my setup. Handles the roads just fine. I don't think Tokico struts are going to hold up to NYC street with a lower spring. There a great strut if your maintaining stock ride height and want a nice smooth ride.
Eibach is also an excellent spring and will definately handle NYC streets very well. BUT, they are firm and you will impact the bumps much harder.

Everybody thanks a lot. So this is what I think would be best for him. KYB AGX and H&R's for the city. Now putting the AGX in the sofest setting is that smooth or is it still harsh? Sorry to bother but thanks guys I dunno too much about 4th gens I'm a 3rd gen.

Some can't even tell the difference, except for in corners where it is much more planted to the ground H&Rs are definately the softest spring out there.. they are also great quality springs, can't go wrong with them.. if you want to stay as close to stock as possible, this is the spring.. and it will not be harsh.

I mean he doesn't want wheel tuck but he wants it to leave 4x4 status. So the shocks have been determined KYB AGX, I found them for $375.00 shipped. Is that a good price?

unless H&R's are a LOT softer than B+G springs, your ride quality on the softest AGX setting will not be as soft as stock. It's a fact of
life, the lower you go, the harsher the ride becomes.
Also, I think AGXs are simply a bit harsher than other shocks, because they are built for cornering performance.
Don't let this stop your friend from dropping the car though, but tell him to be prepared to lose the stock ride quality.
