121k, modded since 46K, driven VERY hard, original trans shifts smooth when driven normally and HARD when it's time to go. Every make & model will have its horror stories.......I could tell you a couple Chrysler horror tranny stories.

My friends GTP goes 13.1 in the 1/4 mi last time I checked...he doesnt have a "huge" amount of work. Thats freakin sweet.

 

They are both GM products. You shouldnt even have to ask if you should buy them or not, just look at the name and turn away.
