Time for new Tires
I ran a search trying to find out info about tires but after sifting through dozens of threads i just figures i'd straight out just ask:
I have the stock 16" 5-spokes with 215/55/16 Goodyear Eagle RS-A's...and they are all worn out
Does anyone have experience with replacing them with 225/55/16's or 225/50/16's?...if so what tires did you use and did you like them?
i'm thinking of going with Bridgestone Potenza RE950 or the Dunlop SP Sport A2...any word on those?
thanks guys,
adrian

Dunlop Sport A2s ... around a 100$ each from tirerack... search the forum for this tire and see how much very positive feedback there is from other members..
It is an excellent tire and a lot of tire for the money.. very quiet, excellent in the dry and rain.. I have these on my dads car.. i love them, as do a lot of others here..
Bridgestone RE950 or something like that are pretty much THE best performance all season tires there are.. they are a bit more costly though..

I have the A2'S and i love them. i think they are the best in their price range. I have the stock 15" GLE's on my car 205/65/15 And they have nutz grip. On the that note has any one ever tried puttin 215/55/15 on the stock 6.5 inch wide rims or is that a bit drastic? Brian

I was told that Good Year aqua treads, provided the best traction on water, any opinions on that?

i am about to face the new england winter of 2002 in my brand new kuhmo supra ecsta 712's.. so far in the rain and dry they've been awesome!! a lot better performers than i expected in the wet..i mean like on rails..for 74 dollars a pop plus shipping i can not complain. lets see how they run in the snow

All Season tires are known to not be that great at one thing hence all season. THey are decent at everything. Where as certin tires such as A2'S are great at dry performance which in turn they give up a bit in Snow traction. I have had mine now for over a year and they are very good in the snow, as long as you dont drive beyond your skill in the snow you will have no problems at all. I have owned the 950's and they also are good tires but i would have to say they dont wear as well as the Dunlops. The A2's will last much longer and they grip on the dry pavement a bit better. A2'S all the way. Brian
