WOW Just bought a 97 SE 5sp!

Hey Guys, I just bought a 97 SE 5sp.

I came across this 97 SE at a great price and could not pass it up, so I bought it (I have always loved the 4th gen body). All I can say is WOW, I am really impressed with the car and the features. I currently drive a 2001 Acura CL Type S with NAVI and was looking for a 2nd car with some extra room. From what I can tell it looks like I got everything except the heated seats.

Pearl White
Power Everything
Climate Control
Bose
Homelink
Fogs
Tan Leather
70K Miles
$10,000 out the door

It was owned by a senior citizen, only driver, no kids, no dents, scratches, no wrecks, non smoker, garaged. This guy took really good care of it. Here are the pics home they come through.

Welcome. Nice looking car! You'll like it even more if you get rid of those orange turn signals and throw in some clears.

I was thinking about the clear corners, saw them on ebay. I just don't know if it would look too rice on white?

Wow, that car looks MINT! I wish my Tan interior looked like that and I also wish I had a 5spd. Congrats on the new car purchase, and let the modding begin!

Later,
-Nick

Thanks Guys, I was really happy with the price. The car is Mint, the Leather on the Pass and back seat look as if they were never used. Carpet looks new except for my floor mat, worn alittle. Paint is flawless, a couple coats of ZAINO and it should be perfect.

I am really enjoying the drive, it is soooo smooth and has lots of power. In fact it seems to ride smoother and it's more quite than my Acura

I will see if I can post more pics later.

both very nice looking cars!!! i would have picked a 350 over the acura, but i'm not here to hate. the clear corners will look good, but do yourself a favor and make sure you get the diamond-cut clear corners. if you're wondering, there is a huge difference!

A senior Citizen drove a 5-speed!
hehe...a 60-year old guy was the previous owner of my fully-loaded 5-speed 95 SE. Unfortunately, the car saw some negative aspects of the old people lifestyle....the pass side has it's fair share of touch-ups...must have been the "tight side" on the garage :/

Sounds like my kind of guy...4th gen and a CL-S. Although now you're gonna have to take flak from both the all-honda guys and the all-nissan guys. Looks like a nice ride! Have fun tinkering.

Yes your right blizz20oma, I might get a beating from both sides. But I have found that both maxima.org and acura-cl.com have alot of mature people who don't care what you drive or for that matter hate.

There are those few who do hate and to each his own, All I can say is don't hate because I got the best of both worlds.

Thanks Guys for all the positive input. I was also thinking maybe I could retrofit the I30 rear sun shade into my Max, what do you guys think?

sweet! I paid $6000 cash for mine. 97 gxe 5sp, base with floormats. 97k (still had 100k extended warantee).

Dang, your car's pretty much loaded! I'm jealous!

btw, i just washed and waxed this weekend. car looks super!

word of advice. I got my windows tinted with SolarGuard Titanium metallic tint. here are the tint levels (this's % of light going through)
windshield = 43
front doors = 33
Back doors = 23
Back window = 23

Just for reference, 18 is about limo tint. With my white car and charcoal cloth interior, the tint looks freakin dark from the outside (combo of white contrast and dark interior). However, the windshield's perfect...can barely tell it's tinted and keeps the car cool. If I could do it again, I'd do:
windshield = 43
front doors = 43
back doors = 33
back window = 33

I got pics, but they're not that great. Gotta take another round when the sky's clear.

Jae
