Car is OK....but the CEL says otherwise! What should I do!!?

I am a proud owner of a 98 Super Black Nissan Maxima ..Just this week my CEL lighted up indicating that I had 0205 which said in the Haynes manual that it had to do something with IACV(Idle air control valve) or circuit fault. Ive read threads on correcting the problem, apparently while at IDLE SPEEDS, when youre parked in nuetral or in a stop light for example...your TACHOMETER is supposed to read 700 plus or minus 50.

My problem is that my rpms are in that range!!! and still. That bloody light stays on...What can be the problem? Can someone help me?

I went to a junk yard to find that part and the guy wanted to charge me $75.00 for that part which I have no idea how many mile was that part under use..Miller Nissan wants to sell that part with some extra parts for $320.00!!! and Courtesy Nissan from TX would send all the parts I need for about $175.00 ahhh..much better. Any how should I look for some other problem? Should I buy a whole new IACV?

Also, the Haynes manual said that if the IACV was ok...to have the PCM looked at.....Isnt the PCM the ECU? isnt that an expensive piece of equipment? damn!!! Im broke!! Help me guys!

Reset the light and see if it comes back. If it does, follow the instructions in the FAQ for cleaning the IACV.

Tried that.

Tried it...Cleaned it out....was fairly easy, but hella dirty..But the light still came on. This is the aftermath of it all..
1. Seems like Im getting 18mpg
2.I feel like im running the car with 140hp
3. Takes a hell of long time to speed up without having to put the pedal to the metal....
Whats happening !!!?
