Got my STILLEN brake rotors on!!!
I put my stillen brake rotors on, on Sunday with the help of some friends. WOW! I can't believe how easy it was. I am not the biggest one on auto mechanics, but I can do simple things (change the oil, tires, etc.) This was my first time working on the breaks.
Anyway, about the brakes, THEY WORK FANTASTIC! I got the stillen cross drilled rotors with free metal matrix pads. They can stop on a dime. I really recomend this pad/rotor combination.

Is the noise level different with the cross drilled rotors? I heard from some that there is a rubbing noise because of the holes, but that it is normal. What are your comments? Thanks.

yes the noise is a little different at first. It sort of sounds like air being sucked up, not rubbing. That was only at first, now they are quiet as can be (hopefully it will stay that way, my old brakes squeaked like crazy).
Yeah, they might need to get warmed up. We put them on on sunday, when it was raining, and they stopped fine. On monday i drove back to ny, when it was dry, this is when i really noticed the big difference.
I didnt have the money for the ss lines. I plan on getting those within a few monthes, along with the new brake fluid, but my fluid was recently changed, so i didnt feel like bleeading the lines. I think I am also going to paint my calipers black, or silver when i put the new lines in.
Good luck,
Dan

BBaker next time use a 3/8 socket adapter to 1/2 and you can use a larger socket wrench on your 3/8 sockets for better leverage less work.

I got all four cross-drilled rotors, and they had a sale in september so I got all four metal matrix pads for free. I think that sale is over now. The total came to like $350, and since I put them on myself I didn't have to pay for install. The shipping was a b*tch though....like $60 from Cali to Boston.
