Have you guys read this whole thread? Fivelitrekiller has already done it and he says it has many benefits. Weight, ease for dual exaust, ect. Also I am very positive I will never sell the car because I would not even get a quarter of what i have spent.
I have to agree with sleeperse. When your car starts to come apart at the seams from all the extreme mods you may tire of your car rather quickly. I loved my 95 Z28 when I first "upgraded" it. The harsh ride from the metal bushings and stiff springs didn't bother me. Scraping the bottom every time I pulled in a driveway was a fair trade off for the good handling. When the first few squeaks showed up I didn't really mind. Eventually it got to the point where it made so many extra noises that it was an embarrassment to drive when I wasn't standing on the loud pedal. The fact that I put $13,000 in mods into it no longer mattered. If you get to the point where you no longer enjoy your car as a daily driver you probably won't be keeping it that much longer. My Camaro will get it's For Sale sign when spring rolls around. I'll be happy if I get $6500 for it. (I'll beat everyone to the punch. I know our Maximas are put together better than any three camaros combined but even my 99 SE has an annoying rattle from the passenger side A pillar) If you need clearance for a dual exhaust that would be a good reason for removing your spare tire well. If you want to save weight leave the tire well alone. Completely remove your spare tire and jack and get a AAA membership or other towing plan. You'll save a lot more weight that way.
