Y-pipe installation gaskets from Cattman...What gives?

I ordered a y-pipe installation kit for my Y-pipe from cattman, and I get it today. There were three pieces in the package, all labelled Nissan OE parts. One was a flatter metal plate consisting of three metal discs. The other two were flexible metal rings.

It's the rings that bug me. Is this what the gaskets for the exhaust manifolds really look like? Will this work, or will I have to contact WSP and order their gasket set?

Any help would be great.

I'm not familiar w/ what Cattman sends out but that sounds right. The connections where the headers meet the y pipe use crush rings as the gaskets. If you look at your y pipe you should see a grove inside the mounting flange areas at the two necks that join to the headers. When you install the new y pipe, make sure the old rings come off w/ the old y pipe and make sure the new ones go in and don't get bump or moved out of their little grove. The end of the y pipe connects to the cat w/ a thinner, flimsier (sp) gasket that is like cardboard w/ some metal grating in it. HOpe this helps.

Yup. They look like rings, one for the front bank and one for the rear bank..the other gasket goes between the Y and the cat.

..Just take the factory pipe off and you'll see the old ones.

It's just like ImStockBaby said, the gaskets are ring shaped. I saw them for the first time last week & my initial reaction was "What the ....."

To see what the oem exhaust related parts look like, check out this page: http://www.greghome.com/Greg's%20Gar...haustParts.htm
