Need help identifying a weird whistling, hissing noise on acceleration...

It is not that loud but is heard.. and it got worse in the last week..

it is monotone and it coming somewhere from the front.. it happens when i give it gas usually.. kind of a hiss and whistle at the same time.. getting thinner as the RPMs go higher.. so when i shift gears and give it gas, it whines right up again...

could this be a slipping belt?

or maybe an air leak somewhere? (i just installed a frankencar intake recently)

it corresponds with my acceleration and the amount of gas i feed it..
getting thinner and thinner, not heard when i am off the throttle.. but comes right up when gas is given....

any ideas guys?

it is your intake system definately. First, check all ure rubber hoses and make sure they're fine...

There IS a whistling sound.... turn on ure car, pop the hood and accelerate the car w/ the throttle body thingy and u will notice the sound like whistling comes from ure cone filter. I have it too.

it sounds pretty cool actually.. i actually did pop the hood and listened, it seemed to be there at a very, very low level when idleing but as u rev it it increased..

Its the sound of your cone filter. When I put in my Frankencar midpipe (already have a JWT cone), the hiss got very loud at idle whenever I turn on the AC. I guess its normal.

i just put my midpipe on today and now at idle im gettin a lot of hissing. you can tell its comin from the intake. from reading i guess this is normal but y so much more of a noise just from the midpipe? before i put the midpipe i had lil if any noise,is it really suckin that much more air in
