Headlights don't work!
Headlights don't work!
I went out to dinner tonight, and when I went in, my headlights were fine. But after dinner, I started up the car and when I turned the headlights on, I noticed that the high beam indicator was on even when the stalk was set on the low beam position. I then noticed that my headlights weren't working even though they were supposed to be on. The blue high beam indicator is staying on in both low and high beam positions on the stalk.
I popped the hood, checked all the connections and they were fine. The fuses were both fine. A couple of weeks ago, I burned out my passenger side harness, it melted. 3rd one I've gone through and I don't even use overwattage bulbs. Never had a problem with the driver's side. But I don't think that would cause this problem.
Basically, lights were working when I turned the car off and 1 hour later they were not working when I turned the car on. Anyone have any ideas? It was too dark for me to inspect everything tonight, so in the morning I'm going to see what I can find.

Your headlight low beam is gone. The highbeam indicator is telling you that. When I had my apc high wattage bulbs, one of them went out even though the filament is still intact. My high beam indicator was on to tell me that one of my light is gone. Replace your bulbs and you will be fine.
Re: Headlights don't work!
Harnesses melted.
Guarranteed.
Get HID's, I'll make the call for you.
Not worth the time, something is obviously wrong with the stock connections, something is catching a bad ground and melting the internals of the harnesses.
I've got connections.

jeff the same thing happen to me. i was runnning factory wattage bulbs and the drivers side started to short out and blow blubs. i dont know why it did that on regular wattage blubs. look at the harness and see if you see any spark residue and funny colors around the connectors compared to the good one.
as sadler said its not worth the time trying to put factory harnesses back in there.
i took it one step further and put in hids and heavy duty connectors/harnesses. i got rid of the factory connectors cause the day i put in the hids one of them started to act up.
Yeah, I blew out both headlight bulbs. And so the high beam indicator comes on to indicate a problem. Replaced the bulbs, and problem solved.
