Re: Im getting S/C, just have a few ?'s

just go with a 3.25 pulley seriously. get a Boost gauge and a EGT gauge.

I would have to agree with going with the 3.25 pulley and the gauges Jay has suggested. I have A/F and boost and I am also going to do an ETG gauge as well I have most of that stuff that you listed though and that is the right way to go.

he knows his Geeride is mighty fast too, he never brags about it either. I have not seen him post any kill stories in a long time, maybe next year.

I bet its pretty fast also, I am curious to see how fast it really is. Maybe I will drive around his neighborhood and call him out and see how bad I lose to him then post about it

also I dont know if his turbo is actually in yet that may be why he hasnt posted anything about it

I know I could have, but I sort of started in stages of upgrades which messed me up. If my engine didn't die, I could I have gotten one just with that money.

I don't have a SC - this is from the research I've done planning for future SC vs. Turbo comparisons.. all I know about the Pulley retainer assembly is that it says that you need it on Vortech's website.

No you do not need a pulley retainer assembly. What ever that is. Everything you need comes with the Stillen SCer Kit.

IMHO, following parts at a minimum for Supercharged using 3.33" pulley

Kit itself. (Avalon or GR Racing)
Permacool Oil Cooler kit. (#771-10189 @ jegs.com)
Clutch (if manual), VB Mod (if auto).
3.33" pulley.
1 step colder plugs.
Hobbs Switch mod (always-on aux fuel pump).
Gauges:
EGT (electrical), BOOST (mechanical), Fuel Pressure (electrical). Don't get the mechanical fuel pressure gauge!!!!!

Things change slightly if 3.25" pulley
Gates Belt K060705
Pulley P/N 2A036-325
Blitz Blow-off valve.

If you're an auto, stay with the 3.33" or bigger unless you plan on fortifying your transmission. Too many SC'd auto max's have broken their auto trannies. Low boost or strengthened tranny, your choice.

Good Luck

Well, Alex (20th max style) who got the SC right after I got mine, blew his automagic tranny with 3.33" pulley. It also depends on how you drive.

On the same token, SteveChicagoSC is running some serious boost (3.0" pulley) and his tranny is holding up just fine.

Since mine is manual, I do not know too much about how you can strengthen automatics. Search for Level 10 and see what you come up with...
