I've got a set of aftermarket Energy Suspension polyurethane control arm bushings for sale. I'd like to get $40 for them. I paid $50 and they have been sitting in my closet for the last year.

Really, are they the ones for front part of the control arm? I just have been hearing that I have to buy the whole control arm for the particular bushing...How can I get more information so that I know that we are talking about the same thing? Please help cause I have to try and get this done this week, cause I got her new tires cause the alignment was off because off that and I don't want the new tires getting messed up too.... Thanks

I wouldn't get your mom the Energy Bushings. There very hard and she's going to feel & hear every bump in the road. I'm not so certain thats the kind of ride mom would like. Keep that in mind.

I'm sure you can order just the bushings from Nissan. I can't see why not? Special order I'm sure...

I apreciate that man, but I have been researching all weekend long and can't seem to find them. I will probably go over to courtsy in the morning and check again.
Thanks

I am willing to bet your mother wouldn't ever notice the difference, I'm sure her car is otherwise stock, with soft stock springs and high profile tires. Yes the bushings I have are the front lower control arm bushings, both sides.

Dang really? I got ripped off badly then. That sucks. If you didn't already purchase them I'll give them to you for $20.

I was also looking to replace the bushing for the control arm. After calling courtesy nissan and infiniti of scottsdale, I found out that you can't order an oem bushing. The only bushings available were the Energy Suspension bushings. I read somewhere that you have to take the arm to a machine shop to get the bushing removed. How could a home mechanic replace the bushing?

I have not done the job yet, but I don't see it being too difficult to remove...besides you won't be worried about messing up the old bushing when removing......
But then again I guess we should wait for someone who has done the job to tell us...

uhhhhhhhhhhh i had a hard time installing those d@mn bushings. very teadeous and hard work. i was un sucessful in pressing out the oem bushings so i had to take a hack saw to them. shops will probably charge like triple the price you pay for the bushings to have them installed because it is such a head ache.

I was going to try and replace the bushings because my bushings went bad (look here). Found out it was such a PIA that I just bought a new control arm for about $130. For those that took off the arm, how did you easily separate the ball joint in the arm from the knuckle. I replaced my right arm last year and when turning the nut, the whole ball joint started to spin and it took forever ?

Thx. The problem i had was as I turned the nut, the WHOLE ball joint started to spin, therefore not allowing the nut to come off. I can't remember how I finally got it off. If I apply pressure with the ball joint separator, would that help at all to stop it from spinning?
