'96 Have Transmission Filter?

Does anyone know how to identify which type of automatic transaxle is my '96 max? According to the Chilton Service Manual, there are two types...RE4F02 and RE4F04. The former requires body disassembly, which I'm not likely to try. The later has an easily accessed removable filter. And then, if I've read them correctly, there are the forum posts that suggest that there's no filter to replace at all.

Thanks.

yeah

95 and 96 same.

I have 95 auto. On the bottom there's a little aluminum type thing that is bolted by like 18 bolts to your transmission.

Take the bolts out and voila! There's the changeable filter. Don't forget to put your magnets back in place.

Total time for tranny oil & filter change: 40 min for normal, at most 1 hr 20 min.
