Changed my knock sensor last night...OUCH!!!(long)

All I have to say is I am glad I have small hands. After two hours of taking apart everything that was possibly in the way that we(another .org member helped me) could and using different wrench setups to try to get the bolt off(12mm BTW)we were stumped on how to get it off. Finally I realized I could fit my hand in there, which I must say is all cut up and black and blue now from squueezing in there. I had to put the wrench pieces in one at a time. Once I wad the wratchet on there I used a prybar to turn the wratchet( there is a good place to get leverage down there). All it took was two clicks to get it loose. After that it was easy(except for having to squeeze my hand in ther each time). After reseting the ECU we took it for a drive, JMAXIMA said he hadn't felt my car pull that hard in a long time, so I am fairly pleased. It still doesn't pull as hard as I expected, but when taking everything apart we saw my throttle body was just nasty. So I am going to do a TBI cleaning sometime this week.

good job. Also when cleaning the TB, don't use the straw ( or if u must ,hold it with your fingers), I did and it ended up inside. To make a long story short, it was a pain in the a$$ to get it out.

Actually I am going to be using the pressurized cannister, that pushes the detergent through and cleans the TB and fuel injectors.

can you elaborate on this please? Is it by any chance called motor vack?? I used something like that, it hooks up to your fuel line , and using detergent it cleans the fuel rail as well as injectors, but it doesn't clean TBs.

Very similar, but this one does do both. Also, unlike most this one does not connect to the fuel rail, it is all done through the TB. To clean the injectors we put an additive in the gas(sort of like STP but MUCH more concentrated like I said I work at a service center..if I said that). You turn the A/C on to get the idle a little higher, let the cannister run out of detergent, and drive the car to get all the garbage out(if everything is really dirty there will be ALOT of white smoke coming out of the exhaust).
