New max owner on the street!

hey guys...just want to let you know about a new max owner...last week I purchased an automatic 1996 black se in mint condition with 100k miles for 6 grand...the 4th gen. has been my dream car since it came out. i am a student and just needed to save for college before i purchased one however. I already have installed new headlights and will be adding more mods as soon as the paychecks come. One of my questions is what mod u think is the most appropriate to get first? thanks for all ur help!... ill be posting pics asap

Welcome to the club
As for the first mod, most people here say that a y-pipe is the best bang for the buck. Mine should arrive in a week or so. I can't wait to install it!

Get a Budget Y-Pipe, its only $158 shipped, and it takes about a week.

Mods mods

Well. I recommend the following:

Do air filter change, oil change, tranny fluid change, and check tires/shocks. any leaks? any problems?

Then, if your stock stereo stinks, you must get cd player/headunit and some decent speakers. $400-500

After the all important sound upgrade, you can go either of two ways:

Handling: $25 front strut bar shipped and $115 rear sway bar shipped both easy to install

OR

Power: intake $30 for K N to $220 Injen intake shipped and $158 budget y pipe. both kinda easy but harder than handling mods...

I chose handling better b/c they were cheaper and easier.

well i got all the maintenance checked right after i got it, and the mechanic said it could use a wheel alignment which i notice when i floor the car on an open road and it veers to the right . i have to hold the steering wheel tight to keep it centered...anyone familiar with this and should aligning the wheels fix it?

thanks for the mod ideas. i think the first couple mods i will do are intake($200), y-pipe($160, rsw($120), fstb ($35), and some diamond cc's ($45) and perhaps a grille. If anyone has information on making a home depot mesh grille , it would be greatly appreciated...i already have a system from my civic, i just gotta work on getting it installed

in your opinion...im looking also at springs ...mainly progress, eibach, and sprint...i want performance springs with a noticeable drop, but dont want a painful ride, does anyone recommend the sprints being that they are the cheapest at $120

how about replacing the crappy maxima suspension itself... it will make your car look a lot better and handle much better also

suspension?

Huh?

By the mean suspension, is it shock/strut and spring combo?

Or u mean "take the rear beam out?"

And which shock/strut spring combo is the best?
