Uh oh, I think I broke my ECU. help?

Uh oh, I think I broke my ECU. help?

Well, I was checking my ECU for codes (http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/ecu.html)

but turned the screw too far past stop. Now it just keeps going without stopping! Both ways. what did i do?! crap....

not 100% sure...but, I think you broke it.

do a search on this, I'm pretty sure I've read
warnings about turning the screw too much.

I've posted regarding this in the past, but I'll do a recap...

I actually broke the screw off inside the ECU! In order to fix, I had to pull the ECU out, solder three leads onto the circuit board, and then connect them to a two way toggle switch. I mounted the switch on the outside of the ECU. It actually works better, as now when I need to check codes, I can just reach down and flip the switch. So far, no problems.

Ok well if your car runs then you didnt break your ECU...you might have lost your ability to pull and clear codes without doing a diagnostic.

can you still feel the slightest bump when turning it..where it's supposed to stop? i turned mine to far but just turned it back and i can still feel it catch at the stop but it's just not as strong as it used to be.

Wow thats actually a pretty good idea. I hate reaching under and turning that screw. Would you happen to have a diagram/schematic?

this is mine right now...i can feel the slightest bump but i dont know which way to turn it to get it back to where it was originally...any ideas?
