My First Kill

Hey guys, its saturday, about 5:16. pm right now in Connecticut, well anyway, just got back a little while ago from my lunch break, anyway.. let me get to the point.

I just got my 99 auto max (stock except for drop in k&n air filter) on this past tuesday. I was driving back from the KFC down the road and came to a light. There was a honda civic with dark a$$ tints and a spoiler that was at least 2 feet high. It was so fugly, any way, the light turned green and he revved his car, (hence this is where the fart muffler comes into play lol) and takes off. Me now owning a maxima says F%$# That!!! And speeds up, not flooring it though, and I catch up to him. He then down shifts, I can hear it mind you (fart muffler) and speeds up, i can kind of assume he has the car floored. he is going pretty well, and starts to pass me. I then get a rush, and decide WTF, let me floor this car and see what I can do..well.. lets just say..I passed him. by ALOT! The engine revved up for a split second, and WHAM, my body went into the back of my seats!! It was great, the honda behind me was going nuts, i could still here his fart muffler loud as all hell, but he was going no where compaired to me. I then hit a red light, put my left blinker on to go back to work, and he rolled up besides me and rolled down his window and asked.. "What you got in there" I said nada, and he was like.. damn.. I need to get me a maxima. I was like.. yup.

That was great. I am kind of afraid to put in any mods... How much faster can this thing get?

speed

The ferrari 456 M GTA (the four seater one, compare apples to apples) does a 1/4 mile in 13.7 seconds. There are quite a few people on this forum who have much faster cars, and I think a few people have n/a cars that go faster (if nitrous counts as n/a still, I dunno).

LOL! Great story.

I have a 98' SE 5 spd, and I am WAY slower than I want to be. About the only power mod I have is an intake good for about 7-10hp at the wheels.

Just wait, going fast is the worst drug of all. More addictive than crack, much more legal than controlled substances, much more sociable, and costs even more than some heroin habits.

Dynos have proven that a y-pipe coupled with an intake has shown gains upwards of 20hp at the wheels. Which is quite a bit. A 10% increase or more in power is definetly noticeable.

cool! I hate those really loud mufflers on civics. I dont mind if u have a lot of money under the hood, becuase then ur doing it just for power alone, but this guy obviously didnt have that much invested.

Cool way to represent the Max.

Fart-Cans are the worst invention ever. I hate those things. I need to pull out my ricer citations, I wonder where I put them.

Yes most civis are slow. Just watch out for those older hatch backs. Those are most common to be the real deal. Getting to cocky can end up making you look real stupid. Getting your doors blown off by a 2,000lbs civic with a built motor and and a blower is no fun.
