I know my SE-R is no Maxima, but I have GR-2 struts on my SE-R with Eibach ProKit springs. The ride is a LOT better than one of my buddies whose got an SE-R with Tokicos and Ground Control Coilovers.
I've got close to 20,000 miles with this setup and its still a nice, smooth ride.

Are you planning on lowering your car as well?
If you are lowering, I'd definatly suggest KYB AGXs although GR2s would be sufficient enough for softer springs like H&Rs.. but if you are planning on staying at stock height on factory springs, I'd suggest GR2s because the adjustability factor of the AGXs won't really play a big role, plus you will save some $ buying GR2s which are already a step up from stock struts.

GR-2 are 15% stiffer then stock. This info is from Chuck at KYB. The GR-2 is a great strut for lowering springs. All KYB GR-2 and AGX are only recommended on drops of 1.5" or less.
I have the GR-2 with ST springs and they are very nice.
