New budget y-pipe

For the 5th gens, Budget just came out with a y-pipe. I know some of you guys have these for the 4th gens, and I was just wondering how you liked them.

got my 4th gen last week and it was a significant improvement. I have only subjective results: Went from being spanked hard before 1st gear was over by my brothers Civic Hatch Hybrid with b18c1 to getting walked - a definite improvement.

Are there any problems with the pipe? Fitment issues? bees in a can? Flex section problems? Thanks.

I think they said they fixed the bees in the can problem on the 4th gen ones. Fitment has always been pretty good with them. Flex section has not really had a lot of complaints either.

hehe get used to it. At any given time I have a few mods sitting around or on their way. You just get used to it after a bit. Like right now I have two mods in my room, one on the way, one ordered but waiting on confirmation of order, and by the time I am done probably will have something else then waiting to install.

nice to hear

got a link to their site?

do they make a Stainless steel pipe as well, i know they are pretty cheap.. how much exactly?

why the hell are they so cheap anyways?
do they use a different kind of weld or bends?

seems like an unbelievable bargain if all is well..

I think my APEXi WS sounds great. No clue about the Y b/c I don't have it just yet. I'll probably order shortly. I'm not having any leak problems at the moment that I know of.

I've had my budget pipe for about a year now.. no fitment issues, I do have a slight bees/buzzing noise, but I don't think that is too common with these pipes. My friend bought one earlier this year and he's had no noises, as well as other members on the org.. so I recommend it highly especially now that they are offering it mandrel bent for $160.

One more budget

Did any of you who have the Budget Y have any check engine lights/codes. Was it easily cleared?

Yes & Yes. For me, it took 2 resets of the ECU & then a bit of driving before it would clear on the 3rd start-up.

the y and apex sounds mean, I love it, esp. cuz of the fact that its somewhat quieter on the hwy!

I think when it comes down to it, both budget and warpspeed have good ypipes that will give u similar results. however, the warpspeed has a lined flex, so no bees in can. my budget pipe has slight bees, but i think in general most people have not had this problem.

what struck me is the wait for warpspeed pipes right now.. i'd definitely go with budget just cause i don't want to run into this problem

The budget I got less than a month ago has a really nice and big flex section. I don't have bees in the can sound, I think they fixed it by changing the flex section they used to use.

how longs the install on a y pipe usually take, giving that its the original exhaust in new england with 110k on it so the bolts are def. gonna need to be heated...im prolly gonan order one in a week or 2 depending on if theres enough time to do it at work when its a slow day or if im gonna pay some one else to deal with it

Y-pipe stuff

I haven't posted here much the past several months, but I do monitor the org daily to learn as much as I can about our cars and to see what people are saying about WarpSpeedPerformance. I felt I had to interject here.
kj043, you should know that as of 2 weeks ago Dallas and I have hired brother Spike to work for us 100% of the time. We now have 48 hour or less turn around time on all our y-pipes with the exception of the TIG welded SS version. We occasionally ship y-pipes the same day they are ordered. We are working on shortening the wait for the TIG welded version as well. Having Spike in the shop daily has allowed Dallas, Lynne and I to focus on other areas.
All I can say is we have now taken our business to a higher level. Please do not hesitate to e-mail me with your concerns. The best way to get a hold of us is our 1-866-801-9338 number during business hours. Lynne or Dallas are there 90% of the time.

Thanks for all your support.

Is this pipe TIG or MIG welded?

Do they make a TIG welded SS pipe?

Is their MIG welded one good enough? No bees in can sound right? I need to make this purchase soon. Help me. Thanks.

Does the b-pipe need the extra piece to attach it to the cat?

Budget's b-pipe connects right up the the rear of the cat. I think I have a pic of that on pg. 5 of my homepage (cardomain site).

When every talk about this "bees in a can" sound, when exactly dones it happen? when you first step on the gas, low rpms, high rpms or through out the gear? I just got mine installed yesterday, I notice that when I floor it, when it hits above 5500 rpm, it has this sound, its faint and almost like a loud hiss not quite a bee sound. When I got home, I kept it at neutral and rev, normal sound until above 4k rpm? I know that the pipe nor the exhaust is leaking, I just don't know if this is the sound everyone is talking about. I can't really hear when I get up that high rpm, with windows down and intake but I ca still hear it in the background.
I also heard that it could be a bracket vibrating the pipe, so I got under the car today and try to see if I can find it but with no luck.

if you got a budget, you wont hear the sound as pronouced as something like the stillen or cattman would. Thats some of the trouble that people have with it. since you only have a slight sound, that should be expected, and will eventually die down to just a murmur,

have fun with your new toy!
