Harlan RPM switch woes

Well, it's been well over 3 weeks since I sent Harlan my RPM switch for a replacement and I still haven't received anything. No switch, no e-mail, no nothing. I've sent him numerous e-mails asking for the status of the switch and I get nothing. Apparantly KevenSE has had the same problem, but he's been without the switch for months now. All I'm asking for is some comfirmation that he's got the switch and he's doing something about it. What really frustrates me is that his website says he has the switches in stock and people have been recieving them.

Should I make a formal complaint to Paypal and the Michigan Better Business Bureau?

Re: Harlan RPM switch woes

I filed a formal complaint with PayPal but their reply basically said they cannot do anything.

I still have not heard from Harlan after close to 10 email attempts. It's been 2.5 months since I sent him my switch.

I plan to purchase an MSD switch now since it's apparent I have no recourse. Harlan screwed me. Where's one of those clever "Owned" pictures, 'cause that's me right now.

I don't know if it's even possible to file a complaint with the BBB if a company is not listed as a member company. If it is, let me know because I would love to file a complaint as well.

Sorry guys I thoguht i fried mine, but it turned out to be a loose wire. Fact of the matter is, I kept writing him emails and no response. I stopped trying to get a hold of him once my switch started working again.

I was just getting ready to order one from Harlan this week. I want to steer clear from his terrible customer service and faulty products. What other options do we have to make the MEVI functional? How much is the MSD switch and how does it work?

Dave and everyone the reason why you probably cant get a hold of him is probably out of town. I cant remember who I emailed about one of these and he told me that the Harlan guy was out of town and wont be getting nothing for the next three weeks.

Yeah he sent me an email like the beginning of the month telling me he was going on a business trip and was hoping to use the weekend to catch up and send out the RPM switches to everyone before he left, obviously that didn't happen. I myself have been waiting over a month on the order of 9 RPM switches I've put in for.

I have been waiting since the start of the month for mine as well. I sent him an E-mail the other day and was planning on following up with it today. He was supposed to be out of town from the 10th to the 18th. By now he could have at least returned an e-mail telling me the status.

I'm beginning to wonder bout this guy now. I've been quite for 2.5 months now and am starting to lose my patience. Already paid for the thing and have my VI with no way of activating it via RPMs. This is really disheartning.

Strange. Brian ordered his and got it within a week I think. That was like a month or month and a half ago. Mine took like 4 or 6 weeks (can't remember exactly). I didn't hear from him for quite a while after ordering it and one day it just showed up.

I know what you mean. I am all excited about my VI coming in in the next week or two and now I find out if this guy just fell off the map I might be stuck with it installed and no way to wire it up for a bit. Oh and I think either JustMaxin96 or JustinMax96 one or the other hasalso been waiting for almost a month for this guy.

So far that makes like almost 15 switches that are being waited on. I really hope he starts answering e-mails soon.

All I ask from him is a reply and a status. I sent him a pretty serious e-mail today. He was supposedly on business from October 10 to October 18.

I sent the same kind of E-mail. I mean if he replies and says "Yeah I have been working on it but I am really busy lately and trying to get them put out." At least it means something is being done or at least getting aresponce from him in general. Just blowing off my e-mails and ignoring me is not cool.

Just wanted to let people know that Harlan is back and he got my order out. I know it took like 4 1/2 weeks, but I can understand when he only does this on the side as a hobby for a little extra income. Anyway, I just wanted to let people know that my 9 rpm switches are in the mail. Whoo hoo

Well, his name is Matthew Harlan and he lives in Michigan. So I did a search on Yahoo People Search and cam up with this. It might be him, it might not. Let me know if it is him.

I'm trying to have a monopoly on these suckers!!! But, everything should work fine...I'm going to double check them before I send them out...but he says everything is perfectly fine.

I thought before it was the relay that was throwing it off more than the actual RPM switch? No?

I pretty sure your absolutely correct, because it seems the people that were having the problem didn't have the relay wired correctly, but Harlan double checked everything...but I do believe it was probably user installation error.

That sounds nice for a change

I just checked my hotmail account to see if I got anything from Harlan like the rest of you but so far no dice. It does make me more comfortable though thinking that if he got out about 10 of em out maybe mine is in the next batch hopefully.

Both of my Harlans have always worked correctly, but another member who I helped has had problems with both of his Harlans. Like DaveB and Keven the Harlan will work for 3 times then stop working. The wiring is all correct as well.

John-

Next time you talk to Matt, please ask him why he insists on blowing off Keven, SudZ, and myself. We're not asking for anything other than a G-damn reply. It really ****es me off that he is putting us in this position where we have to ***** and moan about getting our RPM switches back. Keven's been waiting for a 2.5 freaking months.

Still no go but it looks like the waiting pool is getting smaller. Maybe that is a good thing. I am happy to see that you got yours though.

I haven't received **** and I sent him an email Friday as well as Tuesday. He's still blowing me off. If anyone can get him to respond to their emails, please ask Harlan about the status of my switch. I an *sick* to *death* of waiting.

All I have done is sent a few e-mails saying basicly if you could please let me know the status of whether they have been shiped or not that would be great thanks.

Basicly other than that no real contact, nor have I heard from him.

Well I guess I should have said it better, maybe you offended him with one of the emails...

BTW I thought I had a problem with my Harlan switch and emailed him in july about it.. I never heard back from him.. BUT I did not have a problem

Why not ask these people getting emails from him to forward you the address he is replying from to ensure that address and the one your mailing to are the same.

just a thought
