i've got one on the way and after reading up, it's best to mount it in the y-pipe just below where it meets the exhaust manifold. technically, they say it's better in the exhaust manifold, but trying to replace the manifold after you take it out should you want/need to at some point will be more of a pain to deal with. you'll have to mount it with a bung in the y-pipe. anyone happen to know how much it'd be to have it installed somewhere though?

Well, you can still put it in the manifold. When you decide to remove the EGT gauge and you have a hole, all you need to do is get a 1/8" NPT plug and screw it into the manifold where the probe was and have it welded on. VERY EASY.

As for price of having a bung welded onto the y-pipe, I say no more than $20 at any respectable muffler shop.

Mine was welded on about 4 inches beneath flange for manifold on front bank on the small curved piece of the Stillen Y-pipe...it is easily plugged if necessary for removal and use...but otherwise, it is working fone so it should stay in place.
