Will miracles never cease...good news on my Harlan switch
Just got an email from Harlan that my replacement rpm switch is in the mail. I'm floored. Go my team.
Guess I'll have to cancel my trip to MI and return that Al baseball bat. Too bad. Was kinda lookin forward to it.
(Yes, I'm kidding.)
Still, if anyone is reading this that has a variable intake on order or is thinking about, be aware of what you may be getting into if you deal with Harlan. It's been almost 3 months since I sent Harlan my switch. For all but the first week and today he has ignored literally *ALL* my emails.

Got the switch in the mail today...I didn't check the date on Harlan's email at first but turns out he emailed me a couple days ago.
It's going in tomorrow. Wish me luck! (Like anyone cares.) I'll see if the relay connection works or not. If not, it's gone and I'm grounding the switch directly to the solenoid.

UPDATE (VERY GOOD NEWS!):
I installed my new rpm switch first using the same setup as before (with a relay). The *exact* same problem was encountered. I then removed the relay entirely and grounded the solenoid directly to the Harlan switched ground. Guess what? Yep, works great! I did actually manage to get it to error out after about a dozen activations in a row when I had the rpm setpoint set to 1500. Although that implies there's something not quite right with the setup, I doubt this extreme case will ever be encountered on the road. With the setpoint set to 5000, the unit worked *flawlessly* over several ~20 minute drives.
I have my rpm input signal tapped off the ECU output signal to coil #1. I may change that later seeing as how someone here recently (forget who) used this same setup with a Harlan shiftlight and fried their entire ECU. That has me a bit concerned, even if the cause was likely due to a mistake during install. One accidental short in the Harlan switch and the ECU could be gone. I can just see me touching my key or something across two terminals in the switch while screwing with it...
