hey guys i just raced my friend with a 2002 max se with dubz(245/35/20) its stock so im i, so im a lil happy about the race. but i know its cause of the rims that weigh him down. so here are some videos from 0-130mph hope u guys like it.

i know the GS400 is hott huh, i like the muff on the sho lol i think his car is clean. theirs no other sho dropped like his.

cuz otherwise he would have raped u, its not easy to beat a 2002 maxima, even if its auto, so good job

btw u sure the other guy can launch his car?

 

dont forget the fact that it also has HUGE 20inch rims on it. you would be suprised at how much bigger rims slow down a car...

how do u launch a auto??? power brake? casue he did it on the street race cause i told him too casue i was surpise too.

 

I got 95 auto and I do consistent 15.2s and 15.3s w/o intake w/o exhaust!!! (basically stock performance)

You should really check out what's wrong with your max.

 

well first of all i got a factory clutch with 136,000 miles on it and some spit fire plugs and a vacumm leak some where lol it whistles. lol

15.2 is normal for a 4th Gen 5spd Bone stock.. maybe something is Incredible about YOUR car..

 

Oh yea the ATX(auto) 3.8L OHV 12-valve 140HP Taurus, it just always reminds me of my MTX SHO .

15.2 on an auto stock! all i can say is wow. I have an intake and 17 inchers and my best run was a 16.6. How in the world did u get a 15.2? N e tips on launching an auto? I know i need a major tune up but 15.2 seems unrealistically fast for stock auto.

 

hey man... is that a 15.3 you ran? what have you done to your SHO... i thought those things were faster... no offense. are you auto or 5spd?

 

Yea it is MTX(5-speed), nothing impressive but I also ran with my 18x8 24lbs rims and partial stereo in trunk(only the box was taken out). Only other problem at the time was the not-so good launches and fouled plugs, my times should get better with all of the stereo out and stock 16's on.

Other MTX SHO's with the same mods run mid-high 14's with better 2.0-2.1sec 60' times instead of my 2.3sec 60', my go mods are CAI/y-pipe/custom cat-back, fyi a stock '92-'95 SHO weighs in at 3400lbs.

as for your auto, with stock performance, i've never heard of a stock auto 4th gen run under 15.5

yeah, they are heavy cars for their size, but stock hp is like 232 right? i don't know what the torque is though. anyway, your car is still tight. too bad its slow... j/k.

I like to run it with you. I have an auto. I ran my friend's 01 the first time and I took him by like a car and a half. At first he was ahead of me by a car. We did dead stop on Rt24s. 1/4 mile. He got mad and kept asking me for a rematch so I gave him one after like 3 days. We ran it 6 times I only took him twice. Too much spin on the launch can only go up to highest 1500k. I go to providence a lot. I must have seen so max maximas up there. Friday night I seen 2 max an a accord took them . The accord flashed his hazards. I was like “I wish I was in my max”. My friend also has a 93 SHO stick. Hooked up! I have a green one looks black with a Stillen lip that said “maxima tuning” on the lip.

 

i think they'll say the driver couldn't drive properly and the dubz slowed him down like crazy.

 

The MTX 3.0L Yamaha V6 had 220HP/200TQ stock, and the ATX 3.2L has 220HP/215TQ (needs xtra TQ for automatic transaxle). The '96-'99 SHO all came in auto with a 3.4L Yamaha V8 and 235HP/235TQ. My SHO dynoed at 195.4FWHP/188.6FWTQ, on 18's and partially fouled plugs, thats about 235-240 flywheel HP.

maxima168 doesnt the Gen 5 3.0L weigh about 200lbs more than the Gen 4 but with 222HP instead 190HP?
