Vb Mod

The guy that is doing my new transmission is going to do a VB Mod for me and i was wondering what exactly it involves. Is it just a solenoid swap or can you modify new solenoids. I was going to send it out but i figured since he had it all taken apart i was going to have him do it all in one shot. Brian

Nobody truely knows what is involved except for Maximum Tuning, Level 10, and MobileTek. All I know is that they will open up the valve body and change certain springs, shims, and maybe drill some holes in specific places.

I seriously wouldn't recommend some average joe tranny specialist to start drilling holes in your VB like they do with domestic cars. If you really want this mod, contact one of the companies I listed above. Sorry, I could not be of any more help, but none of these companies are just going to tell you exactly what they do to the VB.

And NO, they do not swap the solenoids. The solenoids control many things with the tranny but NOT shift pressure. The line pressure solenoid does control line pressure but it does not determine how fast a shift takes place. The solenoids stay the same as stock. That I know.
