Will a 97 catback fit on a 96?

Hey everyone, just wondering if a catback from a 97 and Apexi N1 muffler will bolt up to a 96?

Thanks

The bumper on the 97-99 sticks out farther than the 95-96, so if it's a catback off a 97, the exhuast will stick out farther...

Yup. The tip will stick out WAY too far... it will look like 100% unadulterated rice. Either get the tip shortened or the pipe before the muffler. You will also need an O2 sensor plug as 97-99's have their sensors at the front of the B-pipe instead of in their cat.

It's an N1 muffler, so there isn't that big of a tip to start off with, how much approx would it cost to get the pipe shortened?

Thanks

Yes, it's an N1 muffler with a b-pipe... Anybody know how much it would cost to get this done so that it would fit good on a 96?

Thanks

I had my greddy lopped off 1.25"... and it still sticks out a little more than I'd like. Ideally, would like to have cut it 1.75-2" or so.

Edit: cost.
Place I went to was pretty cool, they did it for free when I came back the day after getting the cat back installed by them($60). The muffler tip was hard for them to cut, but in all took less than 1/2 hour. They also threw in the O2 sensor plug for free from one of the many exhausts they sell. The thing managed to wiggle its way loose after a day so I used high temp gasket sealer on the threads to keep it from loosening.

This was how it looked before I had it cut and welded shorter. It actually doesn't look bad from this side pic but from all other angles, it was this thing sticking out badly like the ricer boys have it. ...very conspicuous. Take a look at the shadow it projects and you will know what I'm talking about. It was unacceptable, PERIOD!

As you can see, the greddy has a good size pipe between the muffler and the tip to work with when doing a cut down. They basically cut it with a pipe cutter (manually), expanded one end, then overlapped and welded the pipe back. I actually ordered the 95-96 but AIE sent me the 97-99 by mistake and it was already on before I realized the mistake.
