I went to the Nissan dealer today to get two oil filters. I told him the model and year of my Max, and he gave me two filter # 15208-9E000. I was looking at some posts on here and they say to use filter # 15208-00001. So my question is; did the hillbillie that sold me the filters sell me the wrong ones? Also, what is the difference between the ones I have and the "15208-00001" one?

P.S.
There is an application chart on the side of the box. It says: Vehicle-Maxima, Model-A32B, Engine-VQ30DE
Vehicle-Infiniti, Model-A32, Engine-VQ30DE
among other vehicles listed. I thought the Maxima had engine type A32?!? WTF is A32B?

I think that if you bought it at a Nissan Dealership. You can be sure is the correct one.

 

A32 is the chassis designation for the Maxima. VQ30DE is the engine on 4th gens.

 

I just bought filter from a Nissan dealership. It's part # is also 15208-9E000.

 

A32B might just be an inventory thingto differentiate between Nissan and Infinity dealerships. I doubt he gave you the wrong one since everything else matches.
