Heated Seat Problem

Im having a small problem with the heated seats on my 99SE.
If you click the switch toward the front of the car, the light comes on and in a few minutes, ts starts to heat.
If you click the switch to the back position, the light dosent come on and nothing happens.
Has anybody run into this problem? From what I understand, the front position is the low setting. Since there was frost on my car this morning, I really would like the high setting back. Nothing worse than a cold ****!

Front of switch pressed down = HIGH
Back of switch pressed down = LOW

There are markings on the switch itself. The larger mark inidcates the high setting and the smaller mark indicates the low setting. The light on the switch ends comes on in either position.

It could just be the LED in the switch thats broken. I usually start on the high setting until my a$$ gets toasty, then switch over to low for the duration of my drive.

Try your passenger side and see if both lights work.

The low setting is pretty low, so don't expect to really feel heat on your a$$ and back on that setting, it just keeps the seat comfy.

On a cold morning there's nothing better then a remote start system, automatic climate control and heated seats. SWEET!

Thanks for the info.

From what I've read before, the only way to replace a bad bulb in the switch is to replace the whole switch. Sounds like I'll have a burnt out bulb on my heated seat switch. Is it a bulb or an LED in there? seems like alot of people have those lights go out, which leads me to believe they are bulbs. seems strange.

And your right, heated seats and climate control are fantastic, I have a 5 spd though, so no remote start, it would be too hard to remember to leave the car out of gear, Id be pshing the button, and watching my car hop and creap down the drivway.

Is there a way to diagnose a faulty seat? I don't think my passenger side seat works. The light comes on but I don't think it warms up? Any sure fire way to test it?

Other than putting an **** in it and asking the owner of the ****, I don't know.

It seems like these seats take alot longer to warm up than other heated seats Ive sat in. Are they bad seats, are my seats not working right

I get heat on my back and my ****. When I first bought my car the first time I used the heated seats they took a while to heat up, especially the passenger seat. Since that they work very fast. Give the passenger seat sometime to heat up the first time.

There is a coil in your seat that heats up, so they aren't going to be instant. Give them 5 or 10 minutes then they should be working to full capacity.
