spinning out in 2nd...

Well, the rain finally arrived in Oregon - The roads are wet and it's hell trying to get traction. I was on the way home from watching 8 Mile with my wife and a red integra gets on my a$$ so my wife said "blow him away" I floored it coming onto the freeway and spin all the way to 70 in 2nd.. the intake sounded good though Once I got traction (when I changed to 3rd) it was all good. It was pretty funny how quickly I accelerated from the other guy. He then gets on my a$$ again on the next exit and around the cloverleaf and I'm like WTF?? then he floors it and jumps across two lanes as he exits - as if he's going to pass me or something?? I took it easy and didn't floor it and kept traction all through 2nd, shifted to 3rd, and left him sitting out there in the "fast" lane By the time I got into 4th he had long given up.
I gotta get me some bigger wheels or something - these 15's just don't hold on too well in the wet.
I have 215 60 15's with good tread on Falken Ziex's.

she's the best - she got me my first mod - a FSTB for my birthday a week after I got my Max.
She even loves the intake sound - I wasn't sure about it at first myself, but it's staying on now, because she likes it.

geez....be careful out there in the rain. What if you hydroplaned and banged the max up all because of some Integra? Even tho it's FWD, weirder things have happened.

yeah, keep being optimistic. it wont happen, even with your "tricked out max"

but seriously, the reason why youre spinnin is cuz you got TOO MUCH POWER. the vq is a monster.

damn, your wife is cool, my girl is just like "slow down", "you're car is too loud", " you're gonna get another ticket or into another accident," or some other bs like that.

I promise that you will get laid in college, and probably more than once.

Spinning

I got a little spin yesterday on the 2-3 shift. Wet roads but it wasn't raining. I was pretty happy.

On a simalar note i just bought 215/60R15 Yokohama Avid H4s. Before i bought them i read that they have the best traction in the wet of almost any H or even V rated tire. I can back this up by saying i will beat any maxima in a race in pouring rain. I can get full traction from 2k to redline in first and from 3.5 to redline in second. I peeled second in the rain about as much as my old tries did in the dry. So far there has been a little snow too here in and around Toronto and i can gladly say their is alot of grip in the snow too. I recommend these for anybody that wants to get very good replacement tires for the max, or tires for the winter/spring time. PS - The dry traction is amazing as well. I only wish i had springs so i could really test the tires.

The cool wife

I used to date this girl, and she used to hate it whenever I floored the car. Once she even told me "I hope you get a ticket so that you stop being so cocky" (I used to drive an 87 Accord, so I used to never speed). She was no good any ways, didn't even know how to close my doors, alwyas slamming them (which ****ed me off).

any ways, One time we were at a stop light and this Stratus was stepping on the gas and making that sound like you want to race some one. So I smile and get all happy. She said, if you race him we are thru. To conclude the story, I took off like a bat out of hell, and rid my self of a pain in the *** girlfriend.

Koodos (spl?) for your wife.

I know exactly what you mean. Stupid people with their stupid ecessive use of force. People who slam car doors deserve to be shot.

i was datin this one girl and we were headed out somewhere and this mustang GT convt. is ridin my tail the whole time. I brake check him a couple times and as soon as there is a break in traffic he gets over and I hear him get on the gas so i downshift from 4th-3rd and hang with him then shift to 4th at like 6200 or so and by the end of that I was maybe a half a car ahead. I didn't hear a word she said until the guy slowed down and turned and then she said, 'you wanna not do your macho racing thing w/ me in the car?' dumb h0. shoulda gave here the boot then and there.

This friend of mine has a WRX and she doesn't drive it very hard or anything, but whenever we go out and I drive it, she likes it when I put that turbo to good use. I like it too - and she gets cool points for that

awesome wife..

My wife knows how important cars are to me.. I gave up my TVR to move over here to Oregon. She loved that car too..

The only stipulation she has with me driving fast and racing people is that I "do it smoothly" and not jerk her around with gear changes!
So basically I can do it whenever I want!
She's simply the best - Wednesday is our 3 year anniversary.

My girl just brings a book with her and reads the whole time. 110mph and she just reads. Amazing. She only yells at me once in a long while. She understands my passion for the most part. Every once in a while she’ll even egg me on if I have an arsehole/ricer/domestic revving at me in the next lane.
