i had 2 codes showing,one was for the temp.sensor and the other was for my knock sensor.the knock sensor was showing for like 3 months before the cool temp. sensor but then i had both after i checked it again to see why my car kept dying on me,anyways i bought both the

i put the easy one on first the temp.sen.sor which took overall 15 minutes todo .but it was too hot to get to the knock sensor.i reset the ecu and check engine light went away.i drove it araound for a few days and i checked the ecu again.i got a code for 0304 but why did my light go away.and what kind of tools would be neede to change the knock sensor without taking out the intake ????

 

The ECTS can be had for $20 and the KS for $120. Man, your dealer is ripping you off!

The KS alone will not light the CEL. When you replaced the ECTS, you cleared that code, but you're still getting the KS code.

 

heck yeah he is! i'd do some shopping around next time.

by the way, i had a similar situation (throwing both ECTS and KS codes), changed the ECTS, the KS code went away (due to clearing the computer), and i thought great!! problem solved. wrong. two weeks later, CEL is back again. i haven't pulled the codes yet, but i'm sure 0304 is there.
