Opinion on local 4th gen max for sale.

Its white, a 96 GXE 5spd. Not sure on the options as I havent called yet, it has 49k on it. Thats all I know so far, and the price is 9k for it. KBB has it at 7,800 in good shape. About what SHOULD I pay for this car if I were to get it, lets assume no options. Ill call them later to get more info on it and let you guys know.

I used www.edmunds.com to check out cars.

Since I don't know all of the mods/ if any / plus other options that the car came with, I really couldn't tell you if that's a good buy. Check out that place... it really is good Edmunds

I'd say KBB is giving you a fair value. Remember that when new it cost around $17,500 or so with rebates/discounts (I have a 95 GXE 5 speed I bought new). Also remember that a 5 speed in a basic trim model like a GXE is not easy to sell so they should deal quite a bit. Latsly at 49,000 with a 6 year old car, it was either driven sparingly or they are ALL city miles. Good luck.

Yeah, Ill for sure drive it and what not, I wanna hear a real voice from them though, to get questions answered. Even with 49k city, that would mean just the clutch would most likely need to be replaced soon right, and the tranny would still be ok?

I love my car so much but man, I want a 5spd and would like to have something with far less miles (half what I have) so I could pimp it out and prolly have it 2 years longer.

Lets just say if I get this......Nigel wont be the only turbo in CO anymore, hehehe, just gotta find me a bank to knock off first LOL

OK, half and half highway/city....all original, first owner....NO OPTIONS at all, nothing, no keyless, crap radio (no offense, LOL) but thats good cause I have aftermarket anyway, steelies, you name it it has nothing, and he says he has 3 different blue books that average it at $9000, yeah, I think NO. It blue books at $7500 maybe if that even.

HMM, I think he will have a hard time selling that thing at that price for sure!

Ask him to show you the blue book he is looking at. If you have cash at $7500 or so, that's hard for him to turn down. I guarantee he has maybe been offered 5K for a trade in. Trust me. I have a 95 GXE 5 speed with NO options. dealers look at it like its a leper.

Which KBB price is that? Private Party?

I have found that KBB is a little high, but that is low millage. I personally wouldn't pay more than 8 for it.

He said he had 3 different blue books and that was the 'average', so I think he's full of crap cause thats the price on a 97 maybe.

Besides, I want power seat and keyless entry as a must, lol.

7500

for me maximum...7500, just b/c of low mileage.

no rims, ? tires (prob s or t), bare bone. paint. aftermarket stereo. + bolt ons.

These would easily bump the supped up car price to near 10,000.
think about it.

id pay 7500, maybe 8000 if the car is perfect. if hes gettin 9000 for avg book value hes gotta be goin by dealers retail rather than private party.

Yeah that is what I was thinking, going dealer style.

I dont know, Im no hurry for a car, just kinda looking and if the right deal hits me up then I will do it but not until I find the right deal.
