if it makes you feel any better, practically none of the ones in my stereo do.

Yes. Your buttons should light up. The bulbs are out. They are # 272-1092 from Radio Shack, I got them for $1.49 ea. They are pretty easy to install. Note how the burnt out bulbs are wired on those little rubber pieces. It doesn't matter which of the leads goes where, as these are incandescent, polarity makes no diff. Don't get the leads tangled and short out something.

Mine went out about a month ago. The bulbs don't last too long. I think the bulbs in the radio are the same...Not sure though.

Just my 2¢.

It is an incandescent, not a led. It looks alot like one, but if you notice, the bulb is glass. You can wire an led into it though, search.

i've never done it, but i'm almost certain you do NOT have to replace the whole switch. that sounds like a classic dealer lie...i bet that stupid switch is ~$70 from Nissan. just pull it out of the console and you'll most likely find a way to take it apart.

if these are the same tiny little bulbs as on the 3rd gen, then I have a whole bunch of little red condom caps to make the bulbs red.

my old max was red so I wanted all red interior/dash lights, but I couldn't find anyone that made red bulbs that small. so I had to bulk order like 2000 little red condom caps. I used about a dozen and the rest are sitting in a bag in my garage.

let me know if anybody's doing a red dash and needs tiny red lights. or if you have a really, really, really small pecker and can't find condoms small enough. but if that's the case please just tell me its for the lights.
