Broke Antenna

Broke it while going through the car wash. How do I fix? How much? Is it hard and can i do it myself? Do I have to get a whole new motor?

thanks

Piece of cake, I did the same thing. You need to buy a replacement antenna (I think I got mine from Courtesty but I can't recall). I think about $45. Then you need a special tool (or you can rig one yourself) to take off the metal base that connects to the frame. You'll notice it has 2 or 3 notches in it. If you have the tool it can fit right in and you can unscrew it. Once you do that turn the radio on and pull out the old antenna. Pay attention to where the grooved part of the white plastic is facing. Manually extend the new antenna. Then feed the new plastic in and turn off the radio. It should take it in and screw the new base in.

Not saying this is the best or correct way, just how I did it and it worked.

to get the silver ring off, just wrap it with a towel and twist off. I didn't need a special tool.
Then from inside the trunk, peel back the carpeting, unscrew 2 (or 3?) bolts and grab the attenna assembly out (be sure to unhook 1 harness, 1 antenna lead, and 1 drain tube). Unscrew 3 more screws on the motor assembly, open it up, take out the remaining scraps of the old mast (make a note of which way the plastic teeth are facing!) Put everything back together.
Goto ebay, buy any nissan mast for $23+ship (new/used, doesn't matter. aftermarket is fine too).
Turn on radio. Then turn off radio and stick in plastic teeth (face rearwards, I think...I hope you made a note!) It should suck most of the plastic track and antenna in. If not, turn on the radio, let it go up, then turn off. Replace the silver ring and you're all good!
