Gas Gauge periodically plumits to E, then will slowly return to normal fuel reading

It's not a big deal, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? It just happens out of the blue, the fuel gauge needle will fall to E, then slowly start coming back up to normal readings. Is my car possessed?

Hmmm... Mine doesn't do that, but sometimes the light will come on dimmly for a couple of minutes and then go off even when there is 1/4 tank or more of gas.

Should we call a priest? I did a search but the only thing that I found was how to fix it if the gauge doesn't work. The light still works so I can always use it and my odometer.

Mine does the same thing, it will drop way below E and then slowly return to normal. I have just stopped paying attention and now fill up by mileage. So No your car is not possesed.

Yep

Mine does that same thing. What happens is when I go around a sharp turn, it will go below E. Once I start driving straight again it slowly goes back up.

well that happens to my oldsmolbile all the time.. i think it's because the fuel sensor is floating in the gas tank next to the pump so when your gas is low or when when going up a hill or on an uneven surface (like my driveway at an angle) the sensor is lower/higher than the average value of gas, so your gauges lie. correct me if i'm wrong but that would explain it.

p.s. still searching for my maxima i looked at over 100 different maxes still nothing really comes close to my heart.

Actually it doesn't do it anymore. I love this car it fixes itself!!

First was this problem, went away after about 2 weeks, hasn't happened again in about 6 months.

VQ was losing oil, it is not losing oil anymore and it is still staying clean
