Vb mod problems

I got a vb mod. When I floor it wines out to 6k more or less before I feel the car pick up. My friend thinks it could be because I replaced the solenoids and because they might be aftermarket.

this is what i have for mods.

Gforce ECU, VB MOD with solenoids, intake, UR pulley, Y PIPE, 5TH Gen Muffler, NEW Knock Sensor, Hyper Ground.

when i am cusing at about 30. i can chuck revs by just flooring it.
i was worndering what size rims do you have? i think because i have 15's that they spin way to much.

Vb mod, pr cai,(S/C in the trunk ),y pipe, udp, stock exhaust, stock knock sensor, and ecu. i have 17 inch enkei shoguns. they weight 25 lbs a piece w/o tire. it will spin the s#it out of the tires from first to second on a good acceleration. tires have 70-80 percent life left also.

What you feel is the tranny delay on a downshift. VB mod or not, the downshift isn't that quick.

Your crusing at 30MPH and your tranny is in 4th gear. You floor it and it will "hunt" back all the way into 1st. That takes about a second in which time your engine revs up to about 5K, then your tranny enguages 1st and you pull like a ****.

My suggestion would be to take your OD off when your crusing aroud town and ya want to play. Your tranny will react a bit faster.

I don't think you're describing your problem correctly. Is your car spinning all the way to 6k? Does it just not pull as hard til then? Do you have no movement until then?

The VB mod regardless where you got it from will only do 1 thing; shift faster/harder. The ecu still controls WHEN it's going to shift. The VB does not control when. If you have installed the mod with worn clutches/bands, it will be difficult to chirp 2nd. I have Don's VB mod and mine chirps 2nd even when I'm not trying. If I jump on it, it will REALLY chirp 2nd.

Chirping 2nd means the car "squeals" the tires slightly when it shifts into 2nd.

Turning the O/D button off only will cause the tranny to "lock out" 4th gear. It will help to keep you out of O/D, which is basically your highway gear (for saving gas, not for power), and thereby let you tach out in 3rd to redline.

A lot of people say that the VQ gets asthma around 5-6000 rpm (when mine was stock I did notice this.) So far I have only fabricated an intake, and have a Y-pipe with a low back pressure muffler. After this my car goes berzerk after 5,000 RPM and pulls harder than it does when you hit the 3500 RPM mark. This is mostly from the Y-pipe, I think this is just how our cars react with these mods. Like someone else said the VB should only make your car shift faster from one gear to the next (it takes out the luxury shift which slows the shift time so it doesn't jerk as much.)

SIDE NOTE: I know that the overdrive takes out the fourth gear. But why when I'm on the highway going about 65 with overdrive off (the overdirve light ON) then press the gas and turn overdrive on (the light goes off) do the RPM's jump up and the car pulls much harder?

That is normal. The tranny is shifting up into full "lock" out. In other words, when you hit the button to put the O/D back in, the car slightly down shifts then shifts up into 4th.

Not disagreeing with you, just looking for clarification. When I do this the car stays in third, it doesn't shift into a higher gear. If I'm going 70 with overdrive off (third gear) the RPM's sit roughly at 4,000. If I press the button and don't change my throttle position then yes their will be a slight jump as it shifts into fourth. But I press the gas enough (if I were in overdrive it would downshift to third) that when I push the button it doesn't up shift it just stays in third. But the RPM's still jump from 4,000 to 4,300 instantly and the car starts pulling hard. Does this explanation of the situation make since? What I can't understand is why in third gear with overdrive off do my RPM's sit at 4,000 going 70, but when I have overdrive on and am in third gear the RPM's sit at 4300 while doing 70.
