I have 97 SE with 102k. I have a strange rattle when pulling out and shifting from first to second. It only rattles when the clutch is being used--after I am moving it stops. The clutch does not slip and I have check all heat shilds and anything else (besides the motor mounts) that I suspect would be the problem.

I don't feel like dumping $600-700 bucks for a new clutch if it is not slipping.

Any suggestions on what it might be and if it is the clutch, is it OK to drive it until it starts to slip?
