WOW, that's a horrible point to age ratio. hehe The most points I've ever been driving on was a touchdown.

Yesah i know i messed up pretty bad...i was doing 46 in a 35 zone from what he told me, but he put that i was doing 46 in a 25 zone..is there anything i can do in court for this..He gave me 3 warnings also because this was my first offense..1. Not having my license with me 2. Having more than 1 person in the car. 3. Being out past curfew 4. Ticket-Speeding

Do i have anything on him in court?

Good news is I'm keeping my Max more than likely

Bad news my insurance is going to suck

Take your licence to court.
Take a picture/tell them what road you were on so they can check the posted speed.

As for being out past curfew and having more than one person in the car, tell them you were taking your drunk friends home. I mean, they dont want drunk people driving.

yea, take a picture and stuff and if you are lucky it MIGHT get thrown out since he didn't ticket you properly. if it doesn't get thrown out all together just go back and plead guilty to speeding 46mph in a 35 mph and tell the judge that you'd like to go to driving school to make up for the offence. be extremely polite. it will help. sorry to hear about it though.

sorry to hear that man.. thats pretty bad.. when i was 16 i got a ticket for no license, no ins, people in car and past curfew and speeding.. when u go to court..look nice.not all grungded out but no suit tie n stuff.they will just think your snotty.. look like a preppy dude or something.. take pic of the 35mph sign.. make sure they can see the street interestion sign too..or jugde might not belive you..and say you will plead guilty to speeding in the 35 zone..i wouldnt say you were taking a drunk friend home cuz jugde is gonna be like(whats this 16 year old doign with drunk friends at night) just say you were heading home from a friends house or a movie(say all but latest showing were sold out)) and one of your friends was stuck and needed a ride.(all your moms droped you off individually at theatre..you didnt drive them there) make sure you bring your license and ins to court.. say you were heading home since you were past curfew this is only excuse judge might take..bring a bio book with you to read or somethign so judge will think your a good student.(not sayign your not)..be nice, courtseous.. look up.have good posture..dont cuss. shake his hand when he greets you.. have eye contact with him when he is talkig to you. refer to him as "your honor".but be firm about the 35 mph hour sign. judge cut my $1000 dollar ticket to just 150 plus traffic school. make sure you ask for traffic school to get a point or 2 cleared.check for improv stand up comdey traffic school.its tight.i jsut took one.it may only be in cali though..its not much when u have 12 popints..but ****..better than nuthing..wow this post was long..sorry for essay..

I may be going senile in my old age, but I'm still confused...

How is 46, even in a 25, a 12 point offence? Are you syng that this is the 2 points that will take you to 12 points? Or are you likely to get 12 points from this specific ticket?

As for the 25/35 confusion it make a HUGE difference on the ticket. 46 in a 35 wouldn't get you pulled over in most places. 46 in 25 is 21 over and is elidgible in Ohio for a reckless operation ticket.

If you could take a picture of the 35 speed limit sign with the point you were pulled over highlighted (or if the sign is a distance away then maybe film the path you took showing that the speed limit sign you last saw on that road was 35 and have some means of laying back to the judge)

Thanks for the help so far...I ent back to the road today and re-ran my path and the last sign i saw was a 35 mph speed limit...my question is there was nosign warning the speed was dropping, it just went from a 35 to a 25 without warning..Do i have anyhting on this? I think that he shot the radar before i was in the 25 zone. When he pulled me over he said he caught doing 46 in a 35..so what should i do? thanks for this help you guys...I appreciate this greatly

Thanks again,

Nick

okay, being where i work, i get to hear all the best ways of getting through this alive and well. first things first, fight it!! if you were in a 35, and he tried to go with 25, that's almost a cop out right there. plead innocent it, and if needed, that's your excuse. also, take in your valid DL and show them proof. i wouldn't say about the drinking thing someone else mentioned. then you'll just possibly get your friends in trouble for something that didn't happen, etc etc. if the cop actually (which quite a bit of the time, they don't show up to fight it back) shows up, also try to get any valid reason for having multiple people in the car. nonetheless, they might either throw out that with the speeding ticket, or at most give you only a ticket for that. and then you'll be good to go. no matter what though, good luck!!

BE NICE, but call the station and ask for them to check the tape and listen to what the officer said he pulled you for (46 in 25 or 35). Ask NICELY if the officer will revuiew the ticket to see if he may have inadvertantly written the wrong speed limit. Also, try to Pleade it down to 9 MPH over, regardless of the ticket. If you can do that, it may not go on your ins at all. Go to court early, ask the bailiff who the DO (or prosecutor) is, and go ask that person if you can talk to them. Explain that you will plead guilty to 9 MPH over and deal with the rest of the citation s with the judge. I have gotten out of more 10-15 MPH over tickets that way than have stuck...

Maybe they just don't have anything like this in Texas, but what the heck is up with getting in trouble for having people in the car...?

Wow! How gay... it might be a law in TX, but i've never heard of it. If it is, I broke that one thousands of times when I was 16...

Heh...crap, I've gotten pulled over for GOING the speed limit....on a highway, because the cop next to me was going 5 under.

"A little bit of advice...you should never pass a police officer, no matter how fast he's going compared to the speed limit."

Don't underestimate the power of the bad apples that can be present in the law enforcement agency. Some are bad apples, some aren't. 95CustomMaxima, I hope things turn out OK...doesn't sound like violations should stack up to 12 points. Crap, here, you could take your license to the prosecutors office, get that dropped, and take a class for the speeding and get it dropped. Good luck in court.

heh, this state is so dumb.
A while back I got a ticket for doing 75 in a 40 which was under CONSTRUCTION(therefore its like 30)... they also said I was "racing" since there was a ghetto as Chevy Cav with fart can exhaust next to me.

Guess what? All I had to do was pay $60 and take a class which was 2hrs long... and IT DOESNT GO ON MY RECORD!

Heh, aint that some **** :P
