K & N filter

Hi,

I have a 96 Maxima. Where can I get a K & N filter for $30? Any info would be helpful.

The drop in type? Or like a cone filter type?

Try Pep Boys, Advance Auto, AutoZone, AutowhateverthehellCarparts Store. They all have K&N books where you can order cone filters to your specifications, or drop in filters for your particular year and model car. They won't have it in stock, but they will be able to order it.

Actually I was reading through some posts that mentioned that these filters are available for $30-35. I was surprised cuz the last time I checked prices over a year ago they were $50-60.

eh... i like the price, but if it is one thing i have learned from online buying is always get a picture first. i have been sorely disapointed in some products from ebay because of no picture. i am sorry man... ya can't trust anyone now adays. well if you can come up with a pic then i will think about it!

First off, that is a good general theory, but for MOST transactions on here, having references on this forum is as good as having pics. Regardless, $25 shipped is a good price. If you pass on it, I am sure someone will snap it up.

About where to get it? At that price, used is about your only bet. You may be able to order it online somewhere, but I looked and found that $35 was low, and that was w/o shipping. In the end I bought one off of eBay for $10.75, with 1/2 of a cleaning kit thrown in.

That said, USED K&N filters are a pretty safe bet. Unless it has a hole in it, you just clean it and drop it in. Nothing to break or lose. I would think over the $25 offer. I doubt that you will beat it, and there is really nothing that can go wrong with them...

I don't have access to a digital camera so its kinda tough to take a picture. I understand you not wanting to get ripped off, but I have no reason to try and scam someone out of $25 bucks and ruin my rep on the org. The filter is in perfect condition(no holes or anything like that). It's up to you. Maybe when I'm home over Thanksgiving break I might be able to use my brothers camera and snap a pic if you want to wait.

u can go to near by kregens, autozone, or even body shops they'll have K&N filter... i doubt u'll gonna get for $30, usually they're about $50-$60 + tax... u'll probably find it cheaper on ebay around $40, but shippin will add up too...

i was lookin for K&N on my first mod, but i couldn't find the rite size and i didn't have enough budget it... then i saw a lonely filter sittin at the side, although it's not K$N but it looked exactly the same... but it had no box no nothin... i checked out the filter and it was "3A racing" somethin so i was like okie why not? so i bought it for $29.99 then dropped in... i can feel HP and louder sound at higher rpm =)

so it's up to u...

"Drop-in" = "stock" = "square"

"Cone" = "tapered" = <click>
