hi wassup, i'm new to the org and this is my first post. i had a question regarding the sunroof on my 1996 Maxima.

Heres what happened:

my sister sat on it through the roof while it was fully open and broke it, how much would it cost to fix?? i got quoted for $600 and i want to know if it's worth it. also, i think the sunroof motor is bad. Either that or its just stuck. can i order that part online (a sunroof motor)?

Now, I'm a college student with financial limits. I barely know anything about automotive repairs.

should I just take it to the shop?

also, the 96 have drain hoses, right? The sunroof's been like this since august.

i was wondering what does a sunroof rebuild kit consist of? and where would i go about getting such a kit? i doubt that they sell such things at pep boys.

also, does the kit come with a motor? or is the motor something i have to buy seperately.

does anyone know of any good websites where i can order these parts online?

No i suspect there is more damage then you think... I would bet that the track is actually bent....
Is your glass damaged too??? The motor probably is good or was good before you pushed the button and burned it up..

The kit just consists of the internals of the rails (i.e. Cables and such). As for where to get it, the only place is a Nissan dealer and it retails for around $40-$50. Just post if you need anymore info.
