I have an auto stock 96 se, and my friend just bought this 1998 Trans Am WS6 Auto and he has 3.73 gears and exhaust in it. He is retarded and thinks he can actually beat me. What a moron!
Well, i put 100 dollars on the line, and we are racing tonite at the track. Tell me how much i will murder him by to just boost my confidence. My friend is such an ignorant loser! He thinks that just cuz his car is a "Sports Car" he will win. I need to show him tonite how wrong he is!

You're kidding right? If your friend just bought a WS6, say goodbye to you're $100. Don't they have like 305 hp?
You're lucky to do high 15's in the 1/4, he can do low 13's. You're screwed.

Those dumb scoop things don't even do anything. They are there for decoration or something. What a ricer! That stupid slow 4 banger. Seriously though guys, the question isnt wether or not i will beat him. It is how much i will beat him buy.

1) you just lost $100
2) you will murder him by a good -1 second (yes thats a negative 1)
3) his "sports car" has an engine that is almost twice the size of yours
4) you wouldn't even have a chance if you drove stick.
5) a trans am is not a civic
6) altezza's don't make ur car faster, as some ppl presume
i really hope ur joking on this thread, cause if you're not, get ready to have your A$$ handed to you

Are you on crack? Or are you really this stupid? He's got 4 cylinders in each bank. It's a V-8 and he will destroy you if you race him. This whole thing has to be a joke. Nobody is this dense.

This is absolutely no joke. I just want to make sure that i will win enough against him to embarrass him. I beat trans ams all the time in my max, so why would his be any different? Those stupid camaro-wannabees can't get out of their own shadow.
Come on guys, he got to joking.
An auto WS6 should be a bit slower than the manual one, but regardless unless you're SC or have nitrous, you have no chance whatsoever. I run a 13.9 with my SC auto, even with that, a WS6 would still have no problem beating me easily. I know a guy with a Camaro SS which is similar in power to a WS6, he ran a 13.6 bone stock. That was his first time at the track, with more practice he could hit low 13s bone stock.
EDIT: Dave, time to put down that crack pipe.

well, I dont know much about the situation but heres my insight...being that he knew exactly what model engine was in his friends trans am, obviously he knows "something" about the motor, and just acting like an idiot too see how much ( if anyone ) cares enough to reply to this stupid post! GET A LIFE!

You know it really ****es me off when you guys acuse me of joking. Maybe i was exaggerating, i will prob have about 5 car lengths instead of 10. I actually just put my frankencar in so i should definately get the jump off the line without a doubt.

Can somebody end this thread? Put it out of it's misery. If he's joking, then this is just a waste of bandwidth and a stupid joke at that. If he's not joking, then I'm surprised he has enough brain function to keep breathing. So either way this thread is worthless and beyond redemption.

that is just about as far away from rice as you can get.
you're the one in the import with altezza's are you not?
it has a 5.7L V-8 with RWD, you have a 3.0L V-6 FWD, and 4 doors
you have a car that will run high 15's to low 16's.
your buddy will probably run high 13's to low 14's.
please say your kidding and end this thread.
There is no way that thing has 8 cylinders! I have been in other camaros and firebirds and they dont even feel as fast as my car. The only difference between those cars and his car is that his car has those dumb scoops on them and that is about it.
You guys are retarded. ALL camaros and firebirds have one engine size. A V6!!!!!!! I just checked. Where the hell are you getting a v8 from. Maybe you are thinking of a mustang or a vette or something. Those v6 vettes are mad slow too. You guys are kinda pathetic, being that you flame me for stating facts just cuz you are all too nieve to accept them. I would understand if he had a camaro ss, cuz those things have the supercharged v6's. Edmunds say they got like 240 HP but a like 280 torque. Maybe, MAYBE that could beat me, but he doesn't have an ss, he has a trans am aka Grand AM.

Go here
http://www.pontiac.com/pontiacjsp/fi...rebird_coupe#6
That's Pontiac's webpage, scroll halfway down and read the engine options. You can read right? Clearly there is a 3.8 Liter V6 , and a 5.7 Liter V-8. And read closely that part about 325 hp w/ Ram Air. The WS6 is the Ram Air version.
And Camaros don't have supercharged V-6's. The WS6 firebird and SS Camaro are identical mechanically. Both have 5.7 Liter V-8's. And it's 340 ft/lb torque.
Mustang's are also V-6 or V-8. Corvette's are only V-8. You haven't stated any facts yet, everything you've said has been totally flatout wrong.

Idiot! Those are the stats for the new 2003 firebirds. I believe I said he has a 98! No V8s in 98! Damn, you gotta pay attention to what i say. How can you compare a brand new 03' to a 98. They are completely different!

No they're not different. Same LS1 motors. The pre '98's were LT1 motors but both were 5.7 Liter V-8's. The '95-99 Maximas all have the same motor.
Read this, it's a road test of the '98 Firebird. Halfway down, it clearly states there's a 5.7L V8.

C'mon man. There is a world outside maximas you know. First of all, GM just started putting v8's in the 2003 and up firebirds to compete with the new mustange. The engine is called the MT2 in the firebird. Before 2003, ALL G Bodies (The camaro and the thunderbird for those who don't know) came with only a v6 generating 190 HP and 205 Torque. Those were the EXACT specs coming from edmunds.com. Believe me guys, i know what i am talking about. Probably alot more than any of you.

sorry, the specs were actually 200 HP and 225 torque. I was looking at the maxima POWER by accident. Acually, the camaro is the exact same car as the buick grand national, NOT the Firebird. My god, you are all so mixed up.

In case you're wondering, a Buick Grand National looks NOTHING like a camaro. And it would own you too.Originally posted by DaveGrun

I hate arguing on the internet, and I know it's pointless, but I can't help it with this kind of idiocy. Firebirds and Camaros have had V-8's since forever. Did you not read that link I posted? Do I have to pull the stats from 20 years ago too? Originally posted by DaveGrun

Um, firebirds and camaros are F-bodies. They are no longer in production after '03. I do read Camaro magazines and follow the news pretty frequently. And how can a Camaro and Thunderbird be related since a Camaro is made by GM and the Thunderbird is a Ford? [i] The engine is called the MT2 in the firebird. Clearly that is a '98 Pontiac Firebird. Clearly the specs say that there is a 5.7 Liter V8 in there and it makes 305 hp and that's not even the WS6 version with 20 more horses and Ram Air. If you can prove to me that Edmunds backs up anything you just wrote, I will give you $100.
It's funny how the most ignorant people are always the ones screaming the loudest about how right they are.
WS6 will murder you. mid to high 13 second car. all trans ams/formulas are V8. this is a joke.

Okay, let me put this in laymans terms. I guess i have to go through the WHOLE history for yous guys. AMG was getting eaten alive by mustange sales, and in 2003 when the new mustang srt-10 came out, AMG almost went out of business. They decided to put a new engine in their cars (The G BODYS). They invented an engine called the MT2, it is a rotory engine. I won't even go into the details. This engine did not hit production until 2003, and will not even be mass produced until late 2004. I hope that cleared up some info for some of you people, geez.
BTW this engine is kinda of similar to the HEMI's that pontiac used back in the muscle car age. The buick grand nationals (The 2003 one) shares the AMG MT2 also, alond with the camero and the F Bird.
