Need help with identifying sound when turning off engine

When I turn on my engine it's not running as smoothly and idles at higher rpms. Then when I turn off then engine it makes noise like: brrrrrzzz tick tick brrrzzzz tick tick (sorry about the bad description). It's coming from the back part of the engine somewhere slighty on the right side. Any ideas?

Thanks

The only thing I can think of that is in the right rear of the engine bay is the power steering pressure switch and the brake booster vacuum hose. Check both out for leaks. It is conceivable that a leak at the booster hose may cause vacuum problams which affect drivability.

when you start the engine and the rpms are high, thats normal.

im not sure about the brrrrzz thing
but i think the ticking noise comes from the aluminum block contracting.

No, you misunderstood. When I said higher rpm, I meant higher rpm than normal. Also I know that the engine does that ticking sound when it turns off, this is something else. It's coming from some little part towards the back of the engine that makes that sound I described in my first post. It sound like some motor that's trying to do something but can't, so anyone got an idea?
