I must say my car looks sweet lowered, however get in & take a ride not so nice .The best part of my car is gone ,the steering feel. Its now soft no real feed back. The rear has some noises i did not hear before ,sounds like the coils are touching (new struts are on the way for the rear )Another thing i hate is the sound i get over expansion joints (lots in ny)seems like the dash is loose evry thing rattles .ALL this was realised when a fellow max owner asked how i liked my springs ,I responded saying nice ,i love them, then I really though about it ....... I really dont like the ride but to look at YUMMY 14 1/4 from wheel center to wheel well back and front .
How many mods do we really enjoy as drivers or passengers dash kits ,lighting upgrades, seat belt covers, stereo upgrades, tint,QUESTIONABLE MODS suspention upgradeS,power mods (NOISE FACTOR),bigger wheels, body kits, trick paint job
I THINK if its outside the car the driver/passenger does not enjoy it.

Did you also change the struts/shocks?

In either case, I've tried to tell people here for years now...there is simply no way to preserve the ride when lowering. Even with my H&R/Tokico combo, which is supposed to be the closest to stock quality ride, the ride quality is pretty lousy. On smooth roads, you can't really tell any difference. But even the slightest bump smashes into the cabin and I hear each and every dash rattle (all dozen of them). I know I know...it's not a Toyota...but geez...Nissan has got to get the build quality right before I will buy another one.

I heard Eibachs are even harsher. I can't imagine how horrible that would feel!

i have the apex/tokico set-up and on a smooth road it's great but in the city when i hit huge potholes it sucks. i forgot to tell you i have 18" wheels. i love the turnpike and the parkway, i just hate the city.

I'm all over that remark. I can't speak for earlier model Maximas, but the ride quality in my 2K SE is already harsh enough in city driving. And I definitely don't need any more rattles than I've already got.

Fenderwell gap or no fenderwell gap, I'm not slamming my Max!

You granny's need to go buy a Camry.

Of course there is going to be a trade off when you upgrade performance. Hell, with your mods you'll most likely out perform many BMW's and other "performance luxury cars" but for a substantially lower price.
***** ***** *****. I swear. - What did you think would happen? It's still an awesome car. Rattles or not.
I agree that it could be better. BUT.......
Even if it had rattled when you first test drove it you still would have bought it. The engine is marvelous. Hands down, end of discussion, and you know this.
Turn up the stereo if the rattles bother you and quite yer whine-ing!

MY point was some mods we SEEK OUT ,DISCUSS & SPEND WAY TOO MUCH FOR does not give us any real enjoyment for everyday driving ;much to do about looks which we only see if a similar car passes us on the road (if we let them pass us

Maxima looks like a 4X4 without lowering spring. It looks even higher with 18" wheels. If it comes low stock like 3 series Bimmer, I would just skip the springs.

I guess you just have to like the feel of it. Personaly I lowered my first Maxima and I loved the ride even if it was harsh or bumpy. I have my 97 se and I cant wait till after winter to get my springs and struts put on.
