How Often Does This Happen?!

My car makes a bad sound when I start it and I believe its the crank pulley or something like that. I hear from other org. members that it usually costs around $400 plus install. Are there any performance crank pulleys available? I figure while I'm in the engine I might as well change some things to the better. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem. When I did the 5-speed conversion, I had my starter rebuilt and I haven't had any problems since. But your problem does relate to the starter. A lot of 4th Gens, especially the 95-96s are having these problems.

You mean like an underdrive pulley? Unorthadox Racing makes one.

A company called RVM makes them too, for MUCH less bling.

How was the starter affected from the conversion?
