odd sound when put in reverse
I have a '96 auto. Whenever I put the car in reverse, I would hear this weird sound, almost sound like grinding kind of sound. Seem to be coming from the front passenger side. I'm not certain of this though. When I put it in Drive, I still hear it a bit, but not as noticeable as if I put it in Reverse. Any ideas?
I get the same thing, now thats its getting cold out. It doesn't seem to be my intake, I think it may be my tranny just because it an auto and the ****en thing shakes like mad when I first start my car after it warms up its ok, but it shifts weird sometimes, anyway, The rattling is annoying and ****es me off, and it ****es me off to the point where im so ****ed I could **** on the engine, don't get me wrong I love my car, but when she does dumb stuff I wanna drive it into a tree and just collect the insurance.

No, only when the car is still. I get the noise every time I pop it into Reverse, but if I start moving, no noise. Doesn't matter if I go from Park to Reverse or Driver to Reverse or even Neutral to Reverse, I get the same noise.
i get a recently just started getting a rattling noise when i put the car in reverse it sounds like its also coming from the driver side of the front , i have no clue what it is , it just does it in reverse even when im moving in reverse, the other gears seam to be fine
